Having recently visited Montreal and fallen in love with such a wonderful place I want to know if our qualifications in Australia are recognized in Montreal (particularly)?

If so, are there any recommendations and contacts anyone could provide?

In 1999, I sat on an accreditation panel for a DPM course in Quebec - at the university A Trois Riviere. This involved me travelling to Quebec from Sydney (Ozz) and then on to NY as they were planning to run their clinical from there. While I, and the other external accrediters were supportive, it was on certain terms which clearly I am not at liberty to talk about. I was never kept informed as to whether course took off or not. Thus, the answer to your question is likely to be "no" IF the DPM course flew. It may be "yes" if it didn't. That is simply because they will not recognise UK stuff in the same place as DPM stuff (yet paradoxically, the opposite is expected by DPM....) Rob

Looking through the latest CPMA journal to hit my desk; try Dr. Genevieve PAYETTE - genpay@hotmail.com. She is the Provincial Board Representative for Quebec; Ordre des Podiatres du Quebec.

Universite du Quebec en Trois Riviers has been graduating Podiatrists for I think two years now so try contacting them too. There are now 159 practicing podiatrists in the Province.

How's your French Language skills? They do ask that you meet linguistic requirements.

    Good Luck.
