Sad to hear about the passing of Sir George Martin, who many describe as the "Fifth Beatle" due to his musical influence on John, Paul, George and Ringo and their pioneering music of the time. As a Beatles fan of over a half-century, and my first exposure to the British people being my love of Beatles music in my youth, I have always felt that contributions of George Martin greatly influenced the Beatles. Sir George Martin's work with the Beatles, I believe, is one of the main factors that elevated the music of the Beatles above other rock bands of that era, and possibly above all other rock bands in history.

May you rest in peace, George Martin. Thanks for all you did for the Beatles, and the music of our generation, over the years.

  2. He was a top man. This still makes me smile. Different days.
